Andy Murray heads to Australia despite doubts remaining over his fitness

ANDY MURRAY is on his way to Australia – but doubts remain about his fitness.

Murray was due to fly overnight to Abu Dhabi where Novak Djokovic and other stars have gathered for the Mubadala World Tennis Championship.

It is understood Murray will practise at the event venue.

However, it remains unclear whether he will compete as planned in next week’s Brisbane International, his warm-up tournament ahead of the Australian Open.

Muzza has not played for nearly six months because of a hip problem.

He told Sky Sports: “When I was fit and healthy you think about winning all the major events and getting to No 1.

“When you miss four or five months the goals change.

“It isn’t about winning every match that I play in the future or winning more slams, I just want to get back to playing tennis.
